Maxims for junior year

Maxims for junior year
I somehow made it to junior year. But, I don’t do goals, I do maxims because it's the effort not the outcome. So, I figured I would share my maxims for junior year.
Don’t be realistic
Nothing about my dreams are “realistic”-- so why should I be? My dreams are exuberant and require hard work to come true…so I’m going to be exuberant and hard working. And guess what, I bet I will achieve everything I want and more because of that. Become the person who can live your dreams, that’s my theme for this year.
Give 100% as often as you can.
But I’m not naive, I know I can’t give 100% to everything, so I’m planning on giving 100% to as much as I can. Putting your all into what matters is the best way to build the life you want. Life comes to those who try, so I’m going to try (and succeed).
Everything happens for a reason
I didn’t make the musical freshmen year for a reason and I didn’t win a single election sophomore year for a reason. Both of those things led me to starting The Clear Media Project and Broadcast Club.
Even if it was painful, I learned as many lessons from failures as I did successes. So, try to take every failure as a lesson, because in my world, there’s no such thing as failure–just redirection.
Every day is another chance
As I dive head first into this next year, I have to remember to treasure every day and see life not as monotonous, but as a series of chances you have to take. Every day I can learn, screw up, thrive, and do amazing things. You can too.
Now I leave you with this knowledge and my best wishes for the year ahead. No matter where you’re headed, make sure you’re happy in the end.
Until next time,
Ella Greene.
